Produced at no cost to Black Warrior Riverkeeper from 2007-2008 these videos feature leaders from: The Flaming Lips, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Roots, and The Wailers. Riverkeeper’s volunteer film crew filmed Wayne Coyne last month in Illinois. Michael Franti interviewed our staff Riverkeeper, Nelson Brooke, after his concert at WorkPlay in Birmingham in 2007. The Wailers, Aston “Family Man” Barrett, Bob Marley’s original bass player and Questlove of the Roots, were both filmed in Florida in March 2008. These videos were produced by David Whiteside, Directed and Edited by Arthur Crenshaw and David Whiteside, with considerable production assistance from Braxton Whatley, all of Birmingham.

These videos are part of Black Warrior Riverkeeper’s nationally recognized new media and social networking campaign. Completed videos are quickly posted online to Riverkeeper’s MySpace site, where they can be seen by our 15,000+ online supporters. Some videos are also posted to other video websites such as YouTube, MTV, and AL.com. Black Warrior Riverkeeper has been producing 1-2 videos a week, many with celebrities, since 2007. These videos have generated approximately 20,000 total online views.
